Road Project in Adelaide

The 4.8km South Road Superway (North South Motorway M2) was completed in March 2014. South Australia’s first elevated roadway is the biggest single investment in a South Australian road project, and the state’s most complex engineering road construction project to date.

OSD supplied the fiber optic transmission equipment for the interfacing the Intelligent Traffic System (ITS) with the core backbone network. The OSD products were used for the applications as shown below:

OSD157 – Lane use management systems (lums)

OSD138 – Variable message signs (VMS)

OSD2041 – Traffic Detection

OSD8815 – Fixed Analog Cameras

OSD8816 – PTZ Analog Cameras

With most of these products installed in road side cabinets, it was very important that these products be rated to +75degC.

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL)

The Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, is an Indian state-owned electric utilities company headquartered in Gurgaon, India. POWERGRID transmits about 50% of the total power generated in India on its transmission network. OSD developed the OSD2041PSS for the supply of the industrial hardened media converters which have been installed across hundreds of sites in Power Grid’s national network. A key requirement of the project was the media converter must meet Electrical Fast Transient (Level 4) as per IEC 61000-4-4, Damped Oscillatory (1 MHz and 100 KHz) (level 3) as per IEC 61000-4-18 AC Voltage Dips & Interruption/Variation (level 4) as per IEC 61000-4-11, Electrostatic Discharge (Level 4) Power Frequency Magnetic Field (level 4) as per IEC 61000-4-8,  and Ripple on DC Power Supply (level 4) as per IEC 61000-4-17. Power Grid employed external test auditors to ensure that the OSD2041PSS meet their requirements.

Paradip Refinery Project – Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL)

The Paradip Refinery in India is spread over 3344 acres and OSD supplied industrial media converters for the hundreds of IP camera links for the surveillance over this area. The OSD2041 was chosen partly because of the temperature specification (up to 75degC) however OSD’s experience in oil refineries was the main reason this project was awarded to OSD.IOCL

OSD2910

The OSD2910 is a miniature mid-span PoE++ Gigabit Ethernet Extender which is designed to operate from -20 to +75degC and will support up to 60W PoE. Please click here for more info.
