Port security on Industrial Ethernet Switches

To meet the growing demand for increased security on edge devices, OSD has developed a MAC based security option on it’s OSD225* and OSD21*4 series of products.  This will allow for each port to be assigned an individual MAC address matching it’s connected partner.  If another device is connected to this port then communication will be blocked.  This new security feature along with the recently introduced support for VLAN, IGMP snooping v2,v3 and SNMP v1,v2c,v3 makes these products suitable for use in a wide range of critical infrastructure rollouts

OSD at SAGE 2020 in Canberra

A big thank you to everyone who visited our stand at the recent SAGE 2020 exhibition in Canberra.  Whilst it took a while to get used to being around so many people again it was great to meet people and discuss our product range face to face. OSD will be hitting the road in early 2021 and we look forward to meet with both existing and potential customers in their home states next year.

 Christmas Closure Dates

OSD will be closing at 5pm on Friday 18 December 2020 and reopening on Monday 11 January 2020.  Thank you to all our customers and suppliers for their ongoing support throughout a most unusual year.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

OSD2524P – 24 Port PoE Switch

The OSD2524P is a Layer 2 managed 26-port industrial ethernet switch offering Power over Ethernet meeting the latest IEEE802.3bt PoE specification with continued support for devices requiring IEEE802.3af/at.  Eight RJ45 ports are each capable of supplying up to 90W of power to support the latest PoE devices with a total power budget of 720W.  All 24 RJ45 ports can support up to 30W per port concurrently. For increased flexibility there are four RJ45/SFP combo ports along with two Gigabit SFP uplink ports which can be used as uplink ports or as an ITU-TG 8032 redundant ring.  With support for VLAN, IGMP snooping, industry standard RSTP or MSTP and IEEE802.1x port security, it is suitable for use in critical networks.  A rugged, fan less 1RU high, IP30 19” rack mounting enclosure and an operating temperature range from -20 to +70ºC make it suitable for use in a wide range of harsh industrial environments

TEMBURONG BRIDGE IN BRUNEI

The longest bridge in SE Asia was opened in March 2020 utilising OSD products in it’s video surveillance system.  Over 250 units of OSD225x series of products were used in multiple redundant rings to provide the fiber backbone for high definition video surveillance along this 30km bridge.  OSD worked closely with our Singapore distributor Interactif Video Systems in providing this solution.  The OSD2251P were used to connect to the IP cameras and the OSD2254 provided the connection to the core network.   OSD’s range of Industrial Ethernet products are designed to operate in Brunei’s climate of high temperatures and high humidity.

In July 2020, the bridge was renamed Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Bridge.
